"The Federal Government appointed the members of the Minimum Wage Commission in January of this year for a term of office from 2025 to 2029. The Minimum Wage Commission has the statutory task of deciding on the adjustment of the minimum wage. It will make its next decision on the adjustment of the minimum wage at the end of June 2025 and will thus set the minimum wage for 2026 and 2027. When making decisions on the adjustment of the minimum wage, the Minimum Wage Commission applies the statutory criteria that it has also enshrined in its rules of procedure. As part of an overall assessment, it is guided, among other things, by collective bargaining developments and the reference value of 60 percent of the gross median wage of full-time employees.

Ihre Mitglieder unterliegen bei der Wahrnehmung ihrer Tätigkeit keinen Weisungen.
Der Anpassungsbeschluss der Mindestlohnkommission tritt durch eine Verordnung der Bundesregierung in Kraft.“
The Commission may deviate from these criteria if special economic circumstances exist and the Commission, in its overall assessment, concludes that the two criteria are not suitable for achieving the objectives of the Minimum Wage Act and the EU Minimum Wage Directive in this situation.
The Minimum Wage Commission is a permanent commission of the collective bargaining partners.
Its members are not subject to instructions in the performance of their duties.
The Minimum Wage Commission's adjustment decision shall enter into force through a Federal Government regulation.
