The Minimum Wage Commission has a quorum if at least half of its voting members are present, that means four or more. The two academic advisory members are not entitled to vote.
The decisions of the Minimum Wage Commission are taken by a simple majority of the members present. The chairperson must initially abstain from voting.
If no majority is reached, the chairperson makes a mediation proposal.
If no majority is reached after discussion of the mediation proposal, the chairperson exercises his or her voting right. In this deadlock situation, the chairperson therefore has the decisive vote.
